Our Programming
What We Do
We work alongside tech leaders to connect them with local, untapped talent to create new, transformative value through tech exploration, tech career exposure, and career experience. We aim to bring the tech community together around common civic goals and to fully harness and amplify the resources of LA’s tech community for LA youth (ages 18–24).
Rising Internship Program
The Rising Internship Program helps LA youth jumpstart their careers with paid, hands-on experience in tech. Interns work on real-world projects while gaining mentorship, technical skills, and career guidance. With workshops and networking opportunities, the program is designed to help participants confidently take their next step into the tech industry.
Emerging Tech Academy
The Emerging Tech Academy gives LA youth the opportunity to explore and build skills in cutting-edge technology fields. Through hands-on learning and industry exposure, participants gain practical experience and career-ready skills. The program prepares learners to confidently pursue entry-level roles and future opportunities in tech.
Year-Round Internship Program
The Year-Round Internship Program connects LA youth with ongoing internship opportunities across LA’s tech community. Participants receive career support, mentorship, and professional development resources throughout their experience. The program is designed to help students build skills, grow their network, and stay on track toward their career goals.
Evolve Fellows Program
The Evolve Fellows Program is a 3-year career development initiative designed to support first-generation college students as they prepare for careers in tech, STEM, and business. Fellows gain access to mentorship, career development workshops, and a strong professional network. With a supportive cohort and financial resources, the program helps students succeed from college to career.

Waymo Career Institute
We’re committed to improving access and exposure to tech roles, particularly for underrepresented groups, to help diversify the tech talent pipeline and improve equality in the sector. Of the first cohort of the LA Tech x Waymo Career-Readiness Institute, 79% are pursuing higher education, and 69% are the first in their family to attend college.
High-Impact Programs
In Fall 2023, we launched the LA Tech x Waymo AV Career-Readiness Institute, a 16-week program designed to help students from low-income communities in Los Angeles gain access to meaningful career opportunities in the tech sector.
