Jon X. Lopez
Special Programs Coordinator
Jon holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Hamilton College, studying moral psychology, evolutionary psychology, and the psychology of stereotyping and prejudice. For their senior thesis, they conducted original research on mitigating stereotype threat for underrepresented students through a social belonging intervention.
Before joining LA Tech, Jon served as a Team Lead with City Year at a South Central middle school, where he designed and facilitated a four-day-a-week afterschool program supporting students in underserved communities. They also worked as a Research & Evaluation Associate at PUENTE Learning Center, driving program improvement through data analysis, focus groups, and needs assessments.
Jon now serves as a Special Programs Coordinator at LA Tech, where he supports the enrollment of youth and worksites into American Job Centers of California (AJCCs). In this role, they manage worksite documentation while leading outreach to youth participants, employer partners, and AJCCs to ensure smooth program operations.
